We try to refrain from using the term “night nurse”, as it’s an outdated term as can misrepresent one’s qualifications. The label ‘night nurse’ or ‘baby nurse’ is typically performed by Newborn Care Specialists, Night Nannies or Postpartum Doulas. We like to take a more traditional approach to postpartum doula services, so any overnight care would be classified as a Night Nanny or Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula services are daytime to support mom (and the household) in caring for their new baby.

Newborn Care Specialists range between $25-40/hr in the OKC area and Daytime Postpartum Doula Care ranges between $30-40+/hr in the OKC area.

You can expect that these rates will be higher than normal nanny rates, as with nannies you’re paying household employer taxes, overtime, and taking the burden of having a W-2 employee.
