About This Family
This warm, professional Dallas family is looking for a highly organized, proactive Family Assistant / Mother’s Helper to become an extra set of hands and help keep their busy household running smoothly. Mom is a stay-at-home mom and is very hands-on with both children. She genuinely enjoys being the primary caregiver and wants to continue being the one doing the day-to-day parenting, activities, and outings with her children. What she needs is someone who can step in behind the scenes and make everything else easier. Dad has a demanding work schedule, their 4-year-old attends school Monday–Friday from 12:00–3:00 PM, and they have a newborn at home. Mom is looking for someone who can anticipate what needs to happen, take ownership of household tasks, and provide that extra set of capable hands without needing to be directed every step of the way. This is an ideal role for someone who truly enjoys organization, errands, household management, and being the person who makes life easier for everyone around them.
What You'll Be Doing
Family Assistant Responsibilities:
Run family errands and handle returns
Drop off and pick up dry cleaning
Make appointments and help coordinate family logistics
Manage household errands and to-do lists
Help keep household items organized and stocked
Assist with household organization and systems
Help keep the family's day-to-day schedule running smoothly
Anticipate needs and proactively take care of tasks before being asked
Help with occasional family projects and miscellaneous needs
Serve as an extra set of hands for Mom throughout the day
The family has a housekeeper who comes three times per week, so this is not a housekeeping position. The focus is on organization, errands, family logistics, and making the household function more efficiently.
Childcare Support
Mom wants to remain the primary caregiver, so this is not a traditional nanny role. However, the ideal candidate must have strong infant and toddler experience and be someone Mom feels completely confident leaving with both children when needed. The caregiver will occasionally be responsible for both children independently if Mom needs to leave the home for an appointment, errand, personal time, or other commitments.
Responsibilities may include:
Helping care for the newborn while Mom handles something else
Assisting with the 4-year-old as needed
Occasionally being solely responsible for both children when Mom is away from the home
Helping with transitions, meals, nap time, and household flow
Supporting Mom during particularly busy moments
Keeping kid-related items organized and stocked
The nanny will not be responsible for regularly taking the children on outings and will not be expected to take them to parks, activities, or appointments. However, Mom wants someone with enough infant and toddler experience that she can confidently step away and know both children are in capable, trustworthy hands.
You're Perfect For This Role If You…
Are incredibly proactive and naturally see what needs to be done
Are organized and take pride in keeping things running smoothly
Don't need to be told what to do
Are comfortable taking ownership of errands and household logistics
Have experience with babies and toddlers
Are professional, polished, and dependable
Are positive, easygoing, and pleasant to be around
Understand personal space and professional boundaries
Know how to read the room and recognize when the family needs space
Can receive direction without taking things personally
Are discreet and understand the importance of confidentiality
Are completely gossip-free
Can work independently while still communicating clearly with Mom
Household Culture
This family is warm and welcoming, but they place a very high value on privacy, boundaries, and professionalism. Mom wants someone she can feel comfortable asking to do things a certain way while also knowing that the person will use their own judgment and expertise. The ideal Family Assistant understands that being part of someone's home is a privilege and knows how to be present and helpful without being intrusive.
They are looking for someone who is:
Professional
Discreet
Respectful
Organized
Positive
Self-starter
Easygoing
Boundary-conscious
No gossip, no drama, and no oversharing.
Household Expectations
The family has a housekeeper three times per week, so there is no expectation for deep cleaning. The Family Assistant should instead help with the organizational aspects of the household, including:
Family errands
Returns and exchanges
Dry cleaning drop off/pickup
Appointments
Household organization
Stocking supplies
Family logistics
Keeping commonly used areas organized
Light tidying associated with family activities
Mom's Role
Mom is a very hands-on parent and intends to remain actively involved with the children.
When she is feeling fully recovered postpartum, she is typically very active with the kids and enjoys spending time with them. This position is designed to support Mom, not replace her. The right person will understand that sometimes the best way to help is to take something completely off Mom's plate — whether that's running an errand, organizing something, making an appointment, or simply stepping in with the baby while Mom gets something else accomplished.
Travel
Travel is not required for this position, but the family may occasionally be interested in having their Family Assistant travel with them. Someone who is open to occasional family travel would be a bonus.

Approximately 30–35 hours per week
The exact daily schedule can be discussed with the right candidate.

Experience caring for babies and toddlers
Strong organizational skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Proactive, self-starting personality

30–35 hours per week
W-2 employment
2 weeks paid vacation
3–5 paid sick days

What This Family Is Really Looking For
This family isn't looking for someone who simply waits for instructions.
They're looking for the person who notices the dry cleaning needs to be picked up, realizes the household is running low on something, sees that an appointment needs to be scheduled, and simply handles it. Someone who can walk into the home and think: “What can I take off Mom's plate today?”
If you are highly organized, naturally proactive, discreet, experienced with young children, and genuinely enjoy being the person behind the scenes who makes family life easier, this could be a wonderful long-term fit.
