Balance + Rest: C-section Recovery from an Experienced Mom of 3

Having three kiddos, you learn that no birth, baby or recovery is the same.

After giving birth to three babies all via C-section my postpartum looked similar but also different.

After my first baby and having an emergency section as well as having to deal with preeclampsia after labor it took a huge toll on me. I was dealing with hormones, pain and no sleep. Trying to breastfeed a baby and pumping to keep things going..

My second and third baby postpartum seemed to be more of an easier thing to balance because I made sure to ask for help.

I always communicated with my husband how I was feeling internally and when I needed a break. He was equally hands on helping with feeds, washing pump parts and bottles so they were always available.  I made sure naps were a priority and that I would ask him to take over.

My main thing was getting out and about sooner than 4 weeks. I wanted to heal faster so walking around and getting fresh air healed the soul and the c section pain lol… not kidding.Days I could shower and do my hair and makeup made me feel 100 times better. I am thankful I made these changes after having my first baby because I didn’t let postpartum be a bad thing for me, it was more of a growing experience as a Mom. I love my babies they are such a  blessings!
